Quick and Easy Indian Jambalaya


Do you love Indian spices and enjoy creating new dishes? I do! I have a family of five and cooking for them requires a huge imagination to keep meals tasty but cheap! I love the smell of Indian spices in the kitchen. Curry and Turmeric create an exotic aroma that fills the house and has us salivating for this delectable dish! There is very little prep time and it cooks in a flash! Please enjoy this wonderful recipe from our kitchen to yours, and let me know how you like it!

What You Will Need


2 Packages of Hillshire Farm Turkey Smoked Sausage

4 cups Minute white rice

1 can of Campbell’s cream of chicken soup

1 chopped onion

2 cloves garlic minced

2 tablespoons curry

2 tablespoons turmeric

½ teaspoon of black pepper

1 tablespoon garlic salt

½ tablespoon Cajun’s Choice Creole Seasoning

2 tablespoons cooking oil

How to cook your exotic Jambalaya


  1. Cook Minute white rice and set aside.
  2. Cut Hillshire sausages into ½ inch rounds and stir fry in a 12-inch skillet with oil on med-high heat until browned on each side. Add chopped onions and garlic, once browned put into your already cooked rice.
  3. Add the Campbell’s Cream of Chicken soup and one can of water then add curry, turmeric, black pepper, garlic salt, and Cajun’s Choice seasoning. mix together on low heat. Yes, it is that easy! Now you are ready to dig in!

@frank and suzzycue..It is a wonderful dish that my family loves but I will tell you it is spicy! If you would like it more mild just cut the Turmeric and Cajun seasonings in half. Thank you for having an adventurous palette! I am sure you will enjoy it. The cost averages out to $1.70 a plate, for a family of five, with leftovers to boot!
