Make a giant greeting card out of cardboard. Yes, you heard me right! I know it sounds crazy but the more unique an idea, better the response. Pull out all the stops; use paint you have around the house, glitter and gift wrapping paper. Cut out cardboard hearts and embellish ,the once used, washing machine box. Who cares where you store the thing once he or she reads it! It is the thought that counts.

Have a Karaoke machine that at one time you just had to have and now it is just kicking around in the garage? Pull it out, dust it off and set it up in the living room or bedroom to serenade your honey while slow dancing to his or her favorite song. Feeling a little nervous? Believe in yourself! So you have a few extra pounds around the middle since the wedding day. So your voice is scratchy until that morning coffee coats the throat, BELIEVE! You still got it! Sexy is in the attitude!

Tape a note on the front of the T.V. saying, “Turn me on instead”. Ignite the passion and if all else fails you can watch an episode of “Celebrity Wife Swap”. You will ooze with appreciation for each other while scenes of Flavor Flav jump on your last nerve.

No Cost Valentine Idea #4

Have a husband who likes to put things together? Take a currently used appliance such as a DVD player and take it apart. Then wrap the pieces in ten different boxes. He will receive it as a compliment that you have such high respect for his handyman skills. And you know what hubby always says, “Who needs directions?” He will love it!

No Cost Valentine Idea #5

Here is an oldie but goody. Carve yours and your lover’s initials in a tree. Although most of us have grown up, deep down we all love a sweetheart gesture such as this. Just one note of warning, if you live in an apartment complex or at home with Mom and Dad, do it at night! I don’t think they would be too keen on destruction of property even for the sake of love.

No Cost Valentine Idea #6

If is a sunny day take a stroll to a grassy area with your Valentine and tackle them to the ground. Yes, that’s right, tackle them! But do it in a loving way of course. How else are you going to get them on the ground to look at cloud formations? Once they are down there they will be there for a while. Aching bones tend to have that affect. While gazing up imagine with your sweetie as the clouds pass by and hope it doesn’t rain.

No cost Valentine Idea #7

Have a fogger machine in the attic that you usually only bring out on Halloween to scare the neighbor kids? Well today is the day to use it for spectacular effects in the bedroom. It is a great way to hide the bulges of flesh and wrinkles as it creates a lore of fantasy. Just tell your beloved the rotten egg smell is from last night’s dinner toots.

No Cost Valentine Idea #8

Write “I love you” on the mirror with shaving cream. This is such a loving gesture unless your lovebird doesn’t see it in time, becoming a melted mess for him or her to clean up. Timing is everything so plan it well!

No Cost Valentine Idea #9

Advice for the women…Get out that old Victoria Secret box from last year that you know you saved because it was too darn cute to throw away. Put a note in it to your husband, telling him you are going to rock his world. He will most likely be salivating with just the viewing of the box so the note will blow him into the next hemisphere. It is easy, no cost and will make your guy extremely happy!

No Cost Valentine Idea #10

Advice for the men…Make an animated video with your phone. Use that stuffed animal you got her last year and record little segments. Have the stuffed creature hold little note cards expressing your love. So what if you’re not Steven Spielberg, she will think it clever and cute.

Hey Calico, this was wonderful! But guess what, all the things you said don't just need to be done on Valentine's day, the good thing is they ought to be done often. Thanks for a lot of refreshing ideas, ten of them, one for each month and then I will need two more to make a year! Thanks for sharing and for being so creative and funny!
